So it makes sense to use 64 bit if you have more than 4 GB of RAM, and/or your most important software programmes exist as 圆4 versions as well, and you're absolutely sure your soft- and hardware will work properly. Most software isn't available in 64 bit yet, and some old software and devices won't work on 圆4.
The most important difference is that 圆4 editions can address more than 4 GByte of memory.
The x86 (32 bit) editions run with 32 bit, the 圆4 editions, with 64 bit. Microsoft doesn't supply them for OEM preinstalled licenses (Dell, HP, etc.). If you already run any Windows 7 version, it's also possible to write the ISO image to DVD just by double clicking it.
